Therapeutic Rehabilitative Events and Coping Skills Retreats Offered Throughout the Year

CBHWHVRetreatCourage Beyond offers numerous therapeutic rehabilitative events and coping skills retreats for the military community throughout the year. These events and retreats foster healing and support for both family members and warriors. A typical event lasts from two to four days and involves counseling, assessment, coping skills training, rehabilitative efforts and group support.

We currently serve spouses, caregivers, and widows.

They have become my people and my family.  They all continue to be a safe place to fall or alternatively a place to go and lighten up when I just need to laugh.  If you had told me before I went on the retreat that I’d have a built in family because of it, I wouldn’t have believed you.  I’d have guessed it would be a mountaintop experience and we’d all lose track of one another.

We haven’t.

We won’t.

Just wondering if your support and retreats are also for military widows.

Our support is for everyone who has been touched by military service. Our retreats usually have a specific audience so that we can create a focused curriculum for each, but we do widow retreats periodically. If you’d like more information please email me at and I will connect you with our programs staff.

could courage beyond ever consider having a caretaker retreat for those who care for military loved ones. Just caregivers, not just spouses. Parents, grandparents, and older siblings also care for disabled military service members and often times have no support.

We have done caregiver retreats in the past. We post applications and which group they’re for on our Facebook when they go live on our website. We do have a caregiver parent group though that meets in a private Facebook group. Find it here – Trench Talk Parents.

I am my husband’s Caregiver through the VAMC program. Is there ever just a retreat for us? Or online group discussion? We live in the Barrier Islands of NC and even though there are over 4000 VETS here there is nothing in place for them or us. THANKS
