Kent Crossley’s 30-year military career began as a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point followed by Infantry and Special Operations assignments. These included assignments with the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Commander, 364th Civil Affairs Brigade in Iraq, Chief of Analysis, Integration and Dissemination for Army Lessons-Learned, and Joint Lessons-Learned Team Leader. Overseas deployments include Operation Joint Endeavor (Bosnia), Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Kent holds two Master level degrees; one from Portland State University and the other from the U.S. Army War College.
Colonel Crossley retired from military service in 2010 and returned to serve as a defense contractor with the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization in Washington. There, he assisted reducing improvised explosive device implementation in Afghanistan, defeating enemy networks using these devices, and fielding equipment to detect IEDs.
Kent served 15 years as a U.S. Forest Service civil engineer culminating in an assignment as the Forest Engineer for the Plumas National Forest. Before coming to Centerstone Military Services, Kent formed Libre Energy Utility Professionals, LLC, a small business that reduces energy consumption in commercial and industrial buildings.
Jenny Carr joined Courage Beyond soon after its inception in 2007. In her first role with the organization she personally interviewed hundreds of veterans, service members, family members and experts ranging from the Korean War to the present day conflicts. Currently, she oversees Courage Beyond’s online psycho-educational and support groups, in-person support groups, adaptive retreats and counseling services. Jenny has worked and published with Dr. Edward Taub and Dr. Gitendra Uswatte at their Constraint-Induced Therapy (CIT) Clinic at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to develop real-world measures of physical rehabilitation techniques for both adults and children. She holds a BA in philosophy from Birmingham-Southern College and a BS in psychology from UAB.

Tara Hickman joined Centerstone Military Services in October 2013. In her role as a Supervisor of Clinical and Peer Services she is responsible for referral placement, matching warriors and their families with an appropriate network provider. She oversees all the counseling and referrals that are received. She also handles the majority of the crisis line calls that come to Courage Beyond.
Tara served in the Army as a Petroleum Laboratory Specialist from March 2001 through October 2003. She was deployed in March 2003 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, with the 317th MP Battalion out of Tampa.
After returning to the states in 2003, Tara moved to Denver, Colorado and completed her undergraduate degree in sociology from University of Colorado. Upon graduation she was hired by the Department of Veteran Affairs. Within two years of working with the VA she transferred to the VA Hospital to work in the mental health department. She has worked in the mental health field with veterans for over 8 years. Tara received her Masters in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Tennessee.

Cindy is responsible for managing the matching of Centerstone Military network referrals with providers. Through recruiting in and out of network providers to match clients specific needs. Though she may not have direct contact with the clients, without Cindy these service members and their loved ones would not be provided with the best therapist available.
Cindy enjoys reading and visiting with her six grandchildren (ages ranging from two to 18 years old). For Cindy, locating the perfect provider for our military clients and their families provides great satisfaction. The most rewarding thing for Cindy is knowing that she is a part of getting the perfect match between provider and these very special clients. Cindy loves being a part of this fantastic team of professionals serving our military clients and their families.
