Beyond Surviving Group

A Place for Survivors of Sexual Assault to Speak, Heal, and Thrive

Almost half of all women, and about a fifth of all men, have experienced a sexual assault at some point in their lives.  Whether it was abuse by a family member as a child, assault by a partner as an adult, or military sexual trauma, all sexual violence is painful and causes lasting physical and emotional impacts.

This group is for anyone who has experienced a sexual assault, or who wonders if they may have been. We will discuss the reality of sexual assault, the trauma it causes, and the many ways it may be impacting your life today. We will also look at how being a military service member or family member can magnify triggers and worsen the effects of prior abuse or assaults. Most importantly, we will explore tools to help you heal from this trauma, and move you from simply surviving to thriving.

Sexual assault is never your fault, and you don’t have to face it alone. Please join us in this space where you can speak, heal, and thrive. You deserve it.

Pamela Jacobs, J.D. is an advocate, speaker, and attorney who has worked with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence for over 15 years. She currently speaks to professionals nationwide, including military service members and command staff, about how to effectively respond to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, and also works directly with survivors to help them reclaim their power after physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. Pamela is also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and sexual assault who understands the pain and trauma these experiences can cause, and a former military spouse who is committed to helping our community create connection and healing.
